The Curriculum in Cancer Genetics and Molecular Pathology provides the knowledge and the skills necessary to conduct pre-clinical and clinical research projects in the areas of cancer genetics and molecular pathology . These two fields are grouped together as they have strong pathogenetic, pathophysiological, and clinical interconnections.
Special attention is given to rare and/or hereditary cancers molecular determinants of carcinogenesis with a focus on the identification and functional characterization of genomic variants predictive of susceptibility, prognosis, and response to therapy.
