Curriculum in Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases and Obesity

The Curriculum in Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases and Obesity provides knowledge and research skills for preclinical and clinical studies in endocrinology and metabolism. The main focus is represented by translational studies in key areas, such as alterations of the GH-IGF axis in hypo- and hypersecretory pituitary diseases and diabetes, pathophysiology of somatostatin and dopamine receptors, and response of neuroendocrine tumors to novel treatment strategies. Additionally, research projects cover diabetes and obesity, investigating innovative approaches of currently available therapies. The program promotes precision medicine by integrating cellular biology, advanced clinical research, and new therapeutic strategies, enhancing the understanding and management of complex endocrine and metabolic diseases.
