The lines of research carried out within the Curriculum in Autoimmune and Inflammatory Diseases regard both organ-specific and systemic autoimmune diseases, with a special focus on the study of factors that have a pathogenetic role on the one hand, and can be therapeutic targets on the other one.  Strategies for prevention of opportunistic infections, especially with vaccines, are also investigated.
