Curriculum in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Diseases

The Curriculum in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Diseases provides the knowledge and the skills necessary to conduct pre-clinical and clinical research projects in the areas of cardiology and pneumology. These two fields are grouped together as they have strong pathogenetic, pathophysiological, and clinical interconnections.
Among cardiovascular diseases, special attention is given to ischemic heart disease, heart failure encompassing specific underlying cardiomyopathies, pulmonary hypertension, and mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, and cardio-oncology.
Respiratory diseases of particular interest are asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Other topics covered by the Curriculum include interstitial lung diseases, allergology, and biological therapies used in pneumology.

Coordinators: Italo Porto, Pietro Ameri, Giovanni Passalacqua, Fulvio Braido.
